Ambala: 5 kg of explosives seized from car at railway station


About five kilos of RDX, enough to trigger a massive explosion, two timers and five detonators were found in a car parked outside the Ambala Cantonment railway station on Wednesday night, after a tip-off about a possible terrorist attack.

  1. Averting a major tragedy, Police have seized a large amount of explosives, including detonators and timers from a car parked outside the Ambala Cantt Railway Station.
    Acting on a tip-off, a joint police team of Delhi and Haryana found the explosives in a Indica car parked outside the railway station last night.
    "The Ambala police officials have seized a car in which we got suspected explosive materials, timers, detonators. Our teams and experts from Madhuban have come here and they are examining the matter," said Ranjeev Dalal, Director General of Police.
    "We can't reveal more details at this moment. Further investigations are on," he added.
    The car was bearing a fake Haryana registration number.
    The explosives have been sent for forensic test. A team of National Security Guard (NSG) from Delhi has been rushed to the spot, police said, adding the nature of explosives was being studied. (ANI)
