Things were not looking up for the star earlier this year. He was ill and had to be flown to Singapore for treatment. After his return, he was seen in a cameo in Ra. One. We hear that he will be seen in a 3D flick - Kochadaiyaan before acting in 'Rana' which was shelved due to his failing health.

When Aamir Khan got emotional

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao welcomed their baby boy on December 1. This welcome was a little different, as the announcement was made on December 5 and Aamir declared the fact that they got their bundle of joy, thanks to IVF surrogacy

Aamir's letter to the media (declaring the same) was extremely emotional and qouted Aamir as saying that they got this baby after a lot of difficulties.

3 Idiots to get a Hollywood remake

After its blockbuster success in India, Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots is all set to get a Hollywood remake. "We are in talks with 3 studios in Hollywood and one company in Italy for the remake of 3 Idiots," Chopra told the media on the sidelines of the ongoing International film festival of India (IFFI). And that's not it. The film, which released in India in December 2009, is all set to explore other markets. It is releasing in Mainland China with a whopping 900 prints next week. "Its a first for any Hindi film to release with so many prints in China. It is also being adapted into a stage musical in Taiwan. The film has already made 2-3 million dollars in Hong Kong," said Chopra. The film is also getting a Chinese remake. "The director of Kung Fu Hustle Stephen Chow is also remaking it in Chinese. My films are made with universal values so they connect with audience all over the world. I am hoping my next Ferrari Ki Sawari also tastes the same success." 'Ferrari...' starring Sharman Joshi is a film about a father-son relationship and will release in April next year. "Currently the trailer is being made and will be released alongwith Don 2," said Chopra. Talking about Bollywood participation in a festival like IFFI, Chopra said, "Stars get paid to attend most of the events. In a festival like Cannes, even bad movies are premiered so that stars come and walk the red carpet. This festival has to be taken to that level that the stars willingly participate.

Dev Anand’s death

The evergreen, young at heart romantic superstar who immortalized romance is Bollywood passed away following a cardiac arrest on Saturday night. The 88-year-old actor was not keeping well for some time and was in London for medical checkup. However, Bollywood is surely going to feel the loss and it’s going to be difficult to all the cinegoers to fill the void.

Sunny Leone In Jism 2 to be mildly sexy

Mahesh Bhatt has finalised Sunny Leone for ‘Jism 2,’ but he is taking all the precautions for not breaching the censor board limitations. He will use Sunny Leone’s sex appeal in the film but in a mild way. He plans to draw a thin line between bold scenes and nudity.

Sunny was approached for Mahesh Bhatt’s film ‘Kalyug’ in 2005, but she turned down the offer. However, now the actress is firm on her decision of being a part of the Hindi film industry and is ready to work on the terms and conditions of the Bhatt camp. 

Commenting on the nudity part in the film ‘Jism 2’ Mahesh Bhatt says, “We don’t have the guts to accept porn in India. Sunny is working in my film, but she will be within the ‘lakshman rekha’ of the Indian culture. In India, nudity is not allowed and people are completely against it, so we will not get into that part. She will have to deliver on our terms and conditions and she is willing to do that.”

When asked about Emraan – the serial kisser, being the male lead in the film, Mahesh states, “I can’t say anything about the male lead. It will only be finalised once Sunny is out of the Bigg Boss house.”

Now, only time will tell if the ‘lakshman rekha’ has worked in the favour of the Bhatt’s, resulting in a good box office collection.

Aaliya - the name for Amitabh's grand daughter?

World’s most beautiful woman, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, delivered a baby girl a few days ago and speculations on the baby’s name have been doing rounds since. While some say the name starts with H while others believe it to be K. But, seems the ecstatic Pa Abhishek Bachchan has managed to put a stop to all the speculations as he asked people to suggest names beginning with the alphabet 'A'.

Abhishek hasn’t stopped giving an insight into his world since the birth of his daughter. And, has expressed exemplary happiness on the congratulatory messages.   

He tweeted, “And the congratulatory messages still pour in. Thank you so much guys. All of you are wonderful and so sweet. My daughter is so blessed”.

He went on to write, “And suggestions for names are very welcome guys. Something with "A".”

With Aishwarya and Abhishek’s name starting with the alphabet ‘A’, they seem to be looking for a name for Beti B from ‘A’ as well.

Short shelf life? Not our desi heroes!

Hollywood star Brad Pitt recently said that he knows that he has few years left as a leading man, and he’s only 47.

However, going by the current Bollywood scenario, industry-watchers insist that this does not apply here considering our topmost stars are 40 plus.

“Take a look at the biggest stars today and all of them are 40 plus. In fact, two of our superstars, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan are 60 plus and still ruling the roost,” says trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

“Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Aamir Khan are all 40 plus, and are ruling the marquee,” a distributor agrees, adding that their popularity has only increased with the age so far, so much so that even the young turks think twice about taking a panga with them at the BO.

Actor Abhishek Bachchan feels that Pitt’s statement is an individual opinion.

“Bollywood’s evolved a great deal and proven that age has nothing to do with good work. Sure at 60 plus you don’t expect them to play teeny boppers, but then dad (Amitabh) did play a 10-year-old and Aamir (Khan) was superbly convincing as a college student in 3 Idiots and of course, Rajininkath, who continues to be the best in the industry,” he says.

Trade analysts, however, point out that the limited shelf life logic is more applicable for actresses here.

“No matter how good an actor she is, somewhere after a while she has to come to terms that she may not be ruling the roost unlike her male counterparts post 40,” explains Taran.

An actress who didn’t wish to be named agrees.

“People don’t mind watching a 45-year-old romance an actress half his age, but would they want to see him romance a 40-year-old actress or would they be open to seeing that actress romance someone half her age, I don’t think so.”

“Filmmaking seemsa natural progression for these actors,” points out Taran, as he refers to the huge number of actresses in the late 30s who’ve turned to movie-making from acting.

A star, on conditions of anonymity, however adds, “We decide our own shelf lives. Even in Hollywood, you have a Robert DeNiro and a George Clooney, so why put an expiry date on us?”
