The world’s first dedicated Android store today opened in the city of Melbourne, Australia.
Started by Australian operator Telstra, ‘Androidland’ will operate as a “store within a store” at Telstra’s Bourke Street-located flagship outlet.
The Android store is a one-stop shop for the purchase of smartphones and tablets that run Google’s Android operating system.
Other highlights of the store include a huge interactive Google maps screen, games that offer little robots (!) as prize and other ways to learn about Android features.
The store is the result of a collaborative effort by with major Android manufacturers – Sony Ericsson, Samsung, HTC, Motorola and LG and of course, Google, informs a blogpost on the official Telstra website.
