Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are proud parents of a baby girl.
Abhishek Bachchan announced the news on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
The tweet read: IT'S A GIRL!!!!!! ))))
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has given birth to a baby girl.
Ecstatic grandfather Amitabh Bachchan also tweeted about his granddaughter.
He said: "I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl !!"
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was checked in for delivery at 11:30 pm on Monday night at the Seven Hills hospital.
There were speculations that she would delivery on November 17.
Various sources also claimed at she would undego a surgery to her baby on 11.11.11, which is considered auspicious.
On November 11, Amitabh Bachchan's twitter page was flooded with greetings from fans who believed Aishwarya had given birth to a baby boy. However, Amitabh Bachchan soon quelled all the rumours by announcing that Aishwarya had not yet delivered.
The Bachchan family has booked four VVIP rooms on the fifth floor of the Andheri hospital. The hospital has arranged for strict security in and around the hospital premises.
